Equal Opportunity Cell (CUJ) organizes debate competition
Equal Opportunity Cell, Central University of Jammu, organized a debate competition on the theme ‘Equality Through Positive Differences’ for Students/Research Scholars of the Central University of Jammu at its main Campus, Rahya Bagla here today.
Chief Guest for this event was Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ. Students from various departments expressed their views on the given topic. Under the guidance of Prof. Govind Singh, HOD, Dept. of Mass Communication and New Media, with his enthusiastic team including Prof. Shaveta Kohli, Dept. of Economics who was also the coordinator for this event the Equal Opportunity Cell is working continuously to create awareness among the students about the various differences exist in the society and how we can reduce and remove those differences.
“Diversity is the beauty of our society, it’s like a garden which has many flowers in it, and one must have the eye to look at the positive sides of diversity and differences rather than discriminating on those grounds.”Said one participant by expressing his views on the given topic.
By congratulating participants and Equal Opportunity Cell for organizing this event, Prof. Aima said, “You must recognize your inner talent, and then channelize your efforts and power to achieve whatever the goals you have decided, whatever things you want.”
To Judge, this event two professors Dr. Salil Seth from the Dept. of Marketing and Supply Chain Management and Dr. Vandana Sharma of Dept. of English were invited.
In this debate competition Sunnia Gupta, Dept. of SCM, Shashank Kulkarni, Dept. of PPPA and Shashikant Yadav, Dept. of NSS got the first, second and third prize respectively, wherever, Ananya Khajuria, Dept. of Economics and Mahvish Jan, Dept. of CS&IT were given consolation prizes.
